Track Record

Published since the Fall of 1994, The Christian Herald is the longest running Christian newspaper serving the Ontario market, and one of the largest-circulation Christian newspapers in North America.


Unique Format

With its full-colour, magazine-style cover, The Christian Herald has been a Canadian pioneer in Christian arts and entertainment coverage. The paper is well known for being the best place to find out about upcoming Christian events in the Golden Horseshoe region, giving church-goers a good reason to pick up their own copy each month.


Diverse Readership

The Christian Herald is not affiliated with any individual church or particular church denomination. Our independence also affords us a much wider readership than typical church publications. The Christian Herald is distributed in the lobbies of dozens of different Christian denominations including Alliance, Anglican, Associated Gospel, Baptist, Charismatic, Christian Reformed, Church of God, Foursquare, Independent, Lutheran, Methodist, Nazarene, Pentecostal, Presbyterian, Salvation Army, Vineyard and many others.


Wide Circulation

As a free publication, The Christian Herald connects with Christians of all ages, races and income levels. We have found that, in general, Youth and Singles are primarily engaged with our event, movies and music coverage, whilst Adults and Seniors are drawn to our News, Columns and Feature coverage, including the Books and Travel sections.

     The Christian Herald is distributed throughout Southern Ontario's 'Golden Horseshoe’ region. This area, which is the most populated region in Canada, comprises the city of Toronto and its surrounding suburbs. These include St. Catharines, Grimsby, Hamilton, Burlington, Oakville, Mississauga, Brampton, Vaughan, Richmond Hill, Newmarket, Barrie, Markham, Ajax, Pickering and Oshawa.

       The publication is distributed free of charge into over 650 churches, bookstores, colleges and businesses. As of this writing (May 2018), the paper's general circulation is a minimum of 27,000 copies per issue.


Satisfied Advertisers

While most ad campaigns in The Christian Herald comes from organizations within the Christian community, an increasing number of secular advertisers are discovering the potential that lies in reaching Southern Ontario's Christian families. As the paper is mainly distributed within Houses of Worship, all advertising is subject to approval by the paper's management.

Production assistance: We can help with the production of your advertisement. Charges may apply.

Software: Our preferred format for receiving ads is Press-Ready PDF.

                      We can accept other major formats. Call for details.

                      We do not accept Microsoft Word or Microsoft Publisher documents.


Preparing your ad


• Remember to include all images & fonts with the ad. (If fonts are not included, we reserve the right to substitute fonts.)

• Confirm that the ad is prepared to the size which has been booked.

• For most cases, 300dpi is sufficient. Allow for 20% Dot Gain

• All colours used must be CMYK Process colours.

• For Black & White ads, confirm that all graphics have been converted to greyscale.

• For Adobe Illustrator files, convert all fonts to outlines.
