Dear Friends,

The past several years have been a challenging time within the newspaper publishing industry.

While the Lord has been good to us and our readership has been stable, we have not escaped the fallout from declining advertising revenues during these turbulent economic times.

We're not particularly worried about economics though. The Lord has always been faithful - in season and out of season, and as long as we continue to work according to His will, we'll be fine.

Over the years, we've been asked about donations, or how dedicated readers can play a bigger role in keeping the newspaper strong and growing. One of the best ways to do this is prayer.

We humbly ask that you please remember The Christian Herald in your daily prayer times, as well as in your corporate prayer efforts. Here are a few things you can join with us in prayer for:

Wisdom and Strength
For the newspaper's management and staff, for the story writers, editors, advertising salespersons and others in their daily efforts to create a quality Christian newspaper that showcases the work of the Lord in our cities, towns and in places across the world. A paper that informs and inspires the Church on to even greater things, and offers a window of salvation to the unchurched who may read it.

Peace and Protection
For the network volunteer distributors who travel the roads each month, delivering the paper to the hundreds of churches, schools and businesses across Southern Ontario. Ask that the Lord protect them as they go out and spare them from inclement weather and other road hazards. May their shoes -and their brake pads - never wear out.

Favour and Courage
For the Editors and writers as they seek out stories and sources, and for our advertising salespeople as they approach both new and existing advertisers each month.

We are grateful for your prayers on our behalf, as we work to unite the Church in Southern Ontario. There are a few exciting things we are working toward in the coming year, including new distribution outlets and a new office space. Our hope is to keep growing, even through tough economic times. With God, all things are possible!

If you ever have any questions or concerns about our work, we would love to hear your comments.

Blessings,
Fazal
